I am opening Southeastern Peer Support to offer the service of mental health peer support via online meeting method like zoom, phone, or in person meeting, depending on the situation and request. I am doing this because I know what it’s like to go through a rough mental health journey and mental health challenges. Maybe talking with me will help you.
Katrina Tinman-Dubois
Katrina Tinman-Dubois - Founder, Certified Peer Supporter
Southeastern Peer Support is a peer support agency for mental illness and mental health located in rural southeastern Manitoba, specifically in the area of Gardenton and Vita, Manitoba.
It was opened by its founder and our Certified Peer Supporter, Katrina Tinman-Dubois. Tinman-Dubois comes to peer support after attaining two certifications as a peer supporter, specifically from the Ontario Peer Development Initiative (2019) and from Peer Support Canada, the national agency for peer support in Canada (2021).
Tinman-Dubois was originally an employee of the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society from 2015 through its evolution to become Peer Connections Manitoba, Inc. in 2020. During her time with Peer Connections Manitoba, Tinman-Dubois did peer support on behalf of Peer Connections Manitoba out of their offices in the Mental Health Crisis Response Center in Winnipeg, MB.
Tinman-Dubois’ experience in life ranges from having the mental illness of schizoaffective disorder, which is the combination of the traits of both Schizophrenia and a mood disorder, in her case Bipolar. She is university-educated, with a degree combination of journalism and political science. Due to her dual citizenship for both Canada and the United States, Tinman-Dubois resided in both nations and became acquainted with many people, and experienced many things in multiple jurisdictions. Some of her life experiences include the range from international travel to then even dealing with homelessness.
Tinman-Dubois can empathize and connect with all ranges of people, regardless of age, gender, race, creed, color, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
